Hi, I’m Gianluca.
I studied cultural anthropology, and I’ve always been fascinated by the different ways people live, move, and experience a place.
Rome is not only my city – it’s the environment I love observing, understanding, and sharing through these small stories.
Together with my wife Connie, we host travellers in our small hotel near the Vatican, where we enjoy meeting people from all over the world and exchanging perspectives – just as I do here in the blog.
If you ever feel like saying hello while exploring Rome, you’ll find us on our terrace as well, where every morning we serve breakfast with a view.

Located a comfortable walk from the welcoming Quodlibet bed and breakfast on Via Barletta, the Janiculum Hill offers a remarkable piece of Rome’s historical and architectural heritage—the Fontanone dell’Acqua Paola. The grand fountain, also known as Il Fontanone, is a monumental embodiment of Rome’s Baroque era. Constructed in the early 1600s, it was erected to celebrate the reopening of the Acqua Paola aqueduct, originally commissioned by Pope Paul V. The fountain is not just a feast for the eyes but also a historical narrative in marble, marking the restoration of an ancient Roman aqueduct.
A stroll from Quodlibet to this historical site can include a scenic passage through the lush landscapes of the Pincian Hill, moving towards the alluring neighborhood of Trastevere. This area is revered for its authentic Roman spirit, cobblestone charm, and the warm glow of streetlights that pave the way to some of the best traditional eateries in the city. The culinary journey here promises to be as rich as the history, with restaurants serving local specialties that delight the palate, encapsulating the true essence of Roman dining culture.
