Our final day in Milan began with a leisurely stroll through the historic Brera District, a charming neighbourhood known for its artistic flair, cobblestone streets, and inviting atmosphere. From iconic art to breathtaking views, this day was the perfect blend of culture, spirituality, and Milanese flavour.
Morning in Brera
The Brera District embodies the soul of Milan’s artistic heritage. Its narrow streets, lined with quaint shops, cafes, and galleries, made for a delightful morning walk. Our main destination was the Pinacoteca di Brera, one of Italy’s most renowned art galleries.
Inside, we admired masterpieces by Caravaggio, Raphael, and Titian, among others, as we delved into centuries of Italian and European art. The museum’s tranquil courtyard and its iconic statue of Napoleon added to the charm of this cultural gem.

A Return to Piazza del Duomo
After the Pinacoteca, we returned to Piazza del Duomo, the beating heart of Milan. This time, we had pre-booked tickets to explore the Duomo di Milano in greater detail, including its stunning terraces.
- The Duomo’s Terraces: Climbing to the rooftop, we were treated to panoramic views of the city, a maze of intricate spires, and an up-close look at the cathedral’s Gothic details. It was an awe-inspiring experience that left us in awe of the craftsmanship and grandeur of this architectural marvel.
- Jubilee Celebration: During our visit, we attended Mass, a moving experience made even more special by the opening of the Holy Door for the Jubilee Year. It was a moment of reflection and spiritual connection in this sacred space.

A Taste of Milan in the Navigli District
For lunch, we headed to the vibrant Navigli District, known for its picturesque canals and lively atmosphere. At Pizzeria Sciué, we enjoyed delicious pizzas that paired perfectly with the charm of the surroundings. The bustling energy of the Navigli, even in the afternoon, offered a glimpse into Milanese life.
Back to Piazza della Repubblica
To end our day, we hopped on Tram 9, which conveniently brought us back to Piazza della Repubblica. From there, it was a short walk to our base at the NH Hotel Collection Touring, where we relaxed and reflected on an unforgettable Milanese adventure.
Final Thoughts
Milan surprised us with its perfect blend of history, art, and modernity. Each day brought new discoveries, from the fashion district’s elegance to the artistic treasures of Brera, the majesty of the Duomo, and the lively spirit of the Navigli.
This three-day break reminded us that Milan is not just Italy’s financial capital but also a city brimming with culture, beauty, and unforgettable experiences.
