Winter in Trastevere is unlike the bustling scenes of summer. The neighbourhood slows down, offering a more authentic glimpse into Roman daily life. Locals gather at cosy cafés, couples wander hand-in-hand along the Tiber’s embankment, and the streets—though quieter—maintain their vibrant character.
The cooler air brings out the best of the neighbourhood’s cosy spots: trattorias with crackling fireplaces, bakeries serving warm pastries, and wine bars perfect for enjoying a rich glass of Cesanese. The ivy-covered façades and medieval architecture look even more romantic under the soft glow of winter lights.

1. Santa Maria in Trastevere
