Hi, I’m Gianluca.
I studied cultural anthropology, and I’ve always been fascinated by the different ways people live, move, and experience a place.
Rome is not only my city – it’s the environment I love observing, understanding, and sharing through these small stories.
Together with my wife Connie, we host travellers in our small hotel near the Vatican, where we enjoy meeting people from all over the world and exchanging perspectives – just as I do here in the blog.
If you ever feel like saying hello while exploring Rome, you’ll find us on our terrace as well, where every morning we serve breakfast with a view.

The must to do walk.
A loop that gives everybody the opportunity to see the most of must to see sights all in a row.
Begin with Piazza del Popolo (and if you like a jump to the Pincio Terrace for a fantastic view), pass through the Spanish Steps, than proceed to Trevi Fountain, pass in front of the Parliament (and if you like stop for the best ice cream at Giolitti – Via Uffici del Vicario) and reach the Pantheon. While here have a look at Piazza della Minerva, Piazza Sant’Ignazio, and Piazza di Pietra.
Then continue to Piazza Navona, and from there in 10 minutes through the antique shops of Via Dei Coronari reach Castel Sant’Angelo. Here you’ll see St. Peter’s Basilica. Reach it and then turn right to come back to our location.
Each sight is no more than 5/10 minutes from the next, in a charming pedestrian atmosphere.
You can, if you like, shorten the walk using the Metro Between Ottaviano San Piatro stop (the metro stop which is just a block away from us) and Flaminio (Piazza del Popolo) … you save approx. 30 minutes walk …
This is THE WALK through Rome, something to do in 2/3 hours .. just in a relaxed mood, to see … but mainly “to enjoy” …
