Hi, I’m Gianluca.
I studied cultural anthropology, and I’ve always been fascinated by the different ways people live, move, and experience a place.
Rome is not only my city – it’s the environment I love observing, understanding, and sharing through these small stories.
Together with my wife Connie, we host travellers in our small hotel near the Vatican, where we enjoy meeting people from all over the world and exchanging perspectives – just as I do here in the blog.
If you ever feel like saying hello while exploring Rome, you’ll find us on our terrace as well, where every morning we serve breakfast with a view.

Just a 15-minute metro ride from Quodlibet B&B, Piazza Barberini is home to the magnificent Triton Fountain (Fontana del Tritone), a Baroque masterpiece created by Gian Lorenzo Bernini in 1642. The fountain features the sea god Triton seated on an open shell, supported by four dolphins. Triton is depicted blowing a conch shell, symbolizing the power of the sea.
A fascinating detail of the fountain is the presence of three bees, the emblem of the Barberini family, who commissioned the work. The Barberini bees are intricately carved into the base, linking the fountain directly to the influential Pope Urban VIII, a member of the Barberini family.
Piazza Barberini is also an ideal starting point for further exploration. From here, you can ascend to the stylish Via Veneto and relax in the lush Villa Borghese gardens, or head toward the Quirinale Palace, the official residence of the Italian President. If you prefer, take a short walk down to the iconic Trevi Fountain, or enjoy some shopping along Via del Tritone and at La Rinascente, one of Rome’s top luxury department stores.
Whether you’re exploring its artistic heritage or enjoying its central location, Piazza Barberini offers a perfect blend of history, culture, and modern life. Don’t miss it on your next Roman adventure!
