Early Morning in Prati: A Daily Journey to Bring Freshness to QuodLibet

In the quiet stillness of early morning, Prati begins to stir. As the clock approaches six, Gianluca, one of the owners of QuodLibet Bed and Breakfast, starts his daily journey through the heart of the neighbourhood, meeting familiar faces and gathering the finest ingredients to offer guests a truly authentic Roman breakfast.

The First Stop: Forno di Alessandro Brugnaletti

Every morning, Gianluca’s first destination is the Forno di Alessandro Brugnaletti on Via Vespasiano. This historic bakery, founded in 1926, operates throughout the night, its wood-fired oven—fueled by hazelnut shells—producing fresh, fragrant bread that has been a staple of Prati for nearly a century. Gianluca is greeted by the warm aroma of freshly baked loaves and the welcoming smile of Alessandro, who shares a few words about the night’s work and hands over the morning’s bread. At QuodLibet, our guests enjoy this bread, which is still warm and carries the essence of old-world craftsmanship.

Sweet Delights from Pasticceria Fratelli Palmieri

With the bread in hand, Gianluca heads a short distance to Pasticceria Fratelli Palmieri on Via Silla. This family-owned pastry shop, beloved in the community for almost forty years, is where we source our fresh cornetti—Rome’s answer to the croissant. Every morning, the Palmieri brothers are busy filling their display with pastries that will soon disappear into the hands of eager customers. Gianluca exchanges morning greetings with them and selects the day’s pastries, knowing that these sweet treats bring joy to our guests and a touch of true Roman flavor to their morning.

A Taste of Freshness from Mercato Trionfale

The final stop on Gianluca’s morning route is Mercato Trionfale on Via Andrea Doria, one of Rome’s largest and oldest markets. Here, among a vibrant array of fruits, vegetables, and more, he carefully picks seasonal fruits that will complete our breakfast spread. The market, with its rich variety and lively vendors, represents the soul of Roman food culture, and the produce Gianluca selects each morning ensures that every plate at QuodLibet is brimming with freshness and local flavour.

An Authentic Roman Breakfast Experience at QuodLibet

By the time guests begin their day, everything is in place. The bread, pastries, and fruit have each been chosen with care, thanks to Gianluca’s morning ritual and our trusted neighborhood partners. This journey not only brings the best of Prati’s culinary offerings to QuodLibet but also preserves the vibrant connection we have with the artisans who work tirelessly each night to create the flavors of Rome.

For those who stay with us, our breakfast is more than just a meal—it’s a taste of Rome’s traditions and a reflection of the enduring community spirit that defines Prati. Through these partnerships, we invite our guests to experience the authentic flavours of Rome, starting each day with the best of what our neighbourhood has to offer.
