Hi, I’m Gianluca.
I studied cultural anthropology, and I’ve always been fascinated by the different ways people live, move, and experience a place.
Rome is not only my city – it’s the environment I love observing, understanding, and sharing through these small stories.
Together with my wife Connie, we host travellers in our small hotel near the Vatican, where we enjoy meeting people from all over the world and exchanging perspectives – just as I do here in the blog.
If you ever feel like saying hello while exploring Rome, you’ll find us on our terrace as well, where every morning we serve breakfast with a view.

There’s something special about autumn mornings in Rome, especially from the terrace of QuodLibet Bed and Breakfast. As the plane trees along Via Barletta shed their golden leaves, the city takes on a softer, quieter beauty. It’s a moment to pause, sip a warm coffee, and admire how even in November, Rome has its way of surprising you.
Our terrace, surrounded by these majestic trees, feels like a little retreat. This year, our roses—yes, supermarket roses!—are still blooming in November, thanks to their unusual friendship with the basil and rosemary we planted nearby. These herbs seem to act as natural protectors, keeping pests at bay and letting our flowers thrive.
While the maritime pines stay green and steadfast, the falling leaves of autumn bring a rhythm to the streets below. Walking through Rome this time of year is like stepping into a painting: golden leaves along the Lungotevere, the peaceful parks of Villa Borghese, and the stunning views from the Janiculum Terrace.
Autumn in Rome isn’t just a season; it’s an invitation to slow down, savor the beauty around you, and feel part of a city that’s constantly changing yet always timeless.
