Rome is not only my city – it’s the environment I love observing, understanding, and sharing through these small stories.
Together with my wife Connie, we host travellers in our small hotel near the Vatican, where we enjoy meeting people from all over the world and exchanging perspectives – just as I do here in the blog.

Sometimes the journey is just as important as the destination, and for our trip to Milan, the adventure began behind the wheel. Leaving Rome in the morning, we drove through the picturesque Italian countryside, enjoying glimpses of hilltop towns and rolling landscapes along the way. The anticipation of arriving in Italy’s bustling fashion and cultural hub made the hours fly by.
Arrival in Milan
We reached NH Hotel Collection Milano Touring, our home for the next three days, around 8:00 p.m. The hotel’s central location made it the perfect base for exploring the city’s treasures. After checking in and freshening up, we set out for a casual dinner before calling it a night.
Dinner at Piazza della Repubblica
For our first meal in Milan, we craved something simple and comforting—pizza. A short walk led us to Napizz, a cozy spot in Piazza della Repubblica known for its authentic Neapolitan-style pizza. The dough was soft and flavorful, topped with fresh, high-quality ingredients. It was the perfect way to ease into Milan’s culinary scene.
Settling in for the Night
With full bellies and a sense of excitement for the days ahead, we returned to the hotel, ready to rest. Tomorrow, the exploration would begin in earnest, and we couldn’t wait to uncover Milan’s iconic landmarks, hidden gems, and vibrant atmosphere.
